• The following medications are SRIs: citalopram (Celexa), escitalopram (Lexapro), fluoxetine (Prozac), sertraline (Zoloft), paroxetine (Paxil), fluvoxamine (Luvox), and clompramine (Anafranil).

• In studies of SRIs, between 53% and 73% of people with BDD improved significantly with a particular SRI; among those who completed the study, improvement rates were even higher. In my clinical practice, about 80% of people eventually improved with an SRI (some had to try more than one). These improvement rates were achieved by following guidelines for SRI dosing and treatment recommended in this book.
